How Dental Bonding Can Give Your Smile an Overhaul

How Dental Bonding Can Give Your Smile an Overhaul

Sometimes a few minor changes and improvements are all it takes to dramatically improve your smile. Whether you want to whiten your teeth, fix chips and cracks, or change the shape of your teeth to make them more symmetrical and attractive, dental bonding is a quick, effective, and non-invasive solution that can improve your smile in one office visit.

At the Center for Implant & Esthetic Dentistry, our dentist Dr. Ramin Mahallati and our dental team offer a range of restorative dentistry and cosmetic dentistry services at our office in Beverly Hills, California.

How dental bonding can give your smile an overhaul

It’s often the small and seemingly minor cosmetic imperfections that can detract from an otherwise healthy smile. Many Americans admit to feeling self-conscious and embarrassed about having less than perfect teeth, and they hold themselves back from fully participating in and enjoying their professional and personal lives and accomplishments as a result.

If you want to change something about your smile or are feeling less than confident about smiling, you’re not alone.

How cosmetic bonding works

Cosmetic bonding is made from a resin material and applied to the surface of the tooth to change the size, shape, or color in a single office visit. Unlike porcelain veneers, cosmetic bonding can be fabricated and applied on the spot, which allows you to walk out of our office with a new and improved smile.

Some of the benefits of cosmetic bonding include:

Dental bonding is a good choice for minor to moderate cosmetic improvements like small chips and cracks, closing gaps between teeth, covering stains and discolorations, and changing the size and shape of your teeth. Composite resin is also used for tooth-colored fillings and to seal a tooth after root canal therapy.

The limitations of dental bonding

Dental bonding usually doesn’t last as long as porcelain veneers and may not be as effective as veneers or crowns for more extensive dental damage caused by tooth decay, broken, or missing teeth.

Dr. Mahallati and our team will perform a comprehensive dental exam and recommend the best treatment and restorations for you. If you have underlying oral health issues like cavities or gum disease, you may have to treat them first for the best results.

Once in place, dental bonding looks and feels just like your natural teeth and allows you to eat, speak, and smile with confidence.
