What are the different cosmetic dentistry procedures available?

Teeth Whitening

Teeth can become discolored or stained over time. It may be due to smoking, intake of certain medications, or consuming tooth-staining beverages and foods. Dr. Mahallati can do an in-office procedure to whiten your teeth or provide you with a teeth whitening system to use at home. LEARN MORE.

Dental Bonding

This procedure improves the appearance of teeth that have excess gaps between them, as well as teeth that are chipped, stained, cracked, or broken. Bonding materials can also be used to protect an exposed tooth or fill in small cavities. The procedure can be completed in one visit where an etching solution is applied before tooth-colored materials are applied to the tooth’s surface. LEARN MORE.

Porcelain Veneers

These are custom-made shells that are made of porcelain and used to cover the front surface of the teeth, changing their shape and color. Veneers last longer than dental bonding and are known for their superior appearance. Veneers can enhance teeth that are poorly shaped, slightly crooked, stained, chipped or worn, and have spaces between them. LEARN MORE.

Dental Crowns

These dental restorations completely cover a tooth to restore its normal shape. A crown may be needed if a tooth is misshapen or discolored, weak, broken, or has a large filling. A dental crown can also hold a dental bridge in place, cover a dental implant, and cover a tooth that has gone through a root canal procedure. LEARN MORE.

Enamel Shaping

This procedure removes or improves the contour of the dental enamel to enhance the appearance of your teeth. Enamel shaping may be done in conjunction with a dental bonding procedure. This cosmetic dentistry treatment can correct overlapping, crooked, and chipped teeth. It can also correct minor bite problems.

Dental Bridges

Sometimes called a fixed partial denture, dental bridges replace missing teeth with artificial teeth. Bridges are anchored onto surrounding teeth after they are prepared for crowns. A false tooth is then joined to the crown before the bridge is cemented onto the teeth.

Dental Implants

Implants are implanted surgically into the jawbone and provide a long-term solution for missing teeth. Implants can replace a tooth or several missing teeth. LEARN MORE.
